Fri, 2012-04-13

The XII San Luis Festival will take place April 9-15, 2012 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. The festival will be comprised of 35 different artistic activities. Plaza de los Fundadores (Founders’ Plaza) will be the focal point of the festival by featuring distinct music genres every night. These acts include singer Yuri, big band jazz, alternative music by Radaid, pop music by Alicia Villarreal, local bands Agente 33 and Pateón Rococó, traditional music by Folkloristas and Coro Pro Música, and Eurenia León.

The fair’s director, Juan Carlos Gonzáles Islas, stated that the region’s best jazz would be represented by the Jorge Martínez Zapata trio, who will be headlining a fantastic night of jazz at Teatro de la Paz.  The night will also feature the projection of a documentary on the big band jazz scene in Mexico entitled “Resiliencia por una nota” (Resilience Through One Note), which offers a spectacular panorama of the most successful bands in the country.
