At the floor of the Sierra Madre Mountains, Mexico’s only provincial seaside city, Mazatlan, is the destination for the PGA Championship Tour.  Estrella del Mar Golf and Beach Resort hosted the Canadian Professional Golf Tour’s first game yesterday, attracting golfers from all over the globe to compete. The Canadian PGA Tour is no stranger to Mazatlan, having frequented the El Cid Golf and Country Club for previous tournaments.

Approximately 150 golfers have gathered in Mexico to vie for the prestigious purse, a $125,000 prize. Adam Hadwin, Jace Walker, and Brad Fritsch are a few of the Canadian names who have come to compete.

The Estrella del Mar Golf and Beach Resort course is acclaimed for its illustrious design. The course lies alongside a breath-taking 3.5-mile stretch of beach. It is one of the reasons why so many sporting events continue to return to Mazatlan. A few of the annual events Mazatlan will hold include the Quicksilver Classic Surf Competition, the El Debate Fishing Tournament, and the Marina El Cid Dorado Fishing Tournament.
