ECD Announces Automotive Trade Mission to Mexico City

Wed, 2012-07-18

As part of the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development’s (ECD) TNTrade initiative, participants, including two Chattanooga companies, will be part of a trade mission to Mexico City July 17-20 focusing in on the automotive industry. TNTrade is a statewide initiative to make Tennessee the number one state in the Southeast for high quality jobs.

The mission to Mexico City will bring Tennessee automotive companies to the PAACE Automechanika exposition, the largest and most well-known international trade shows in Latin America. There, Tennessee companies will have the opportunity to connect with potential customers and partners with the help of the U.S. Commercial Service.

“After a successful medical trade mission to China and South Korea, we are excited to offer a second trade mission for our automotive businesses,” Bill Hagerty, commissioner, Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, said. “The automotive industry is a cornerstone of our state’s economy, and this trade mission affords automotive suppliers the opportunity to expand their markets and forge new relationships.”
